About the Station
BIG RIVER FM is a Community owned and run radio station based in Dargaville, Northland, New Zealand.
The station transmits throughout parts of the Kaipara region on 98.6 and 88.2 in Ruawai.
Community Flavour
Our function is simple: Through the medium of radio the station mirrors the desires, wants and tastes of the community it serves.
The Station first aired 14 February 1997 and has become an integral part of the community. 14 years on it is still run and owned by the community it serves.
Partners
Big River also has an afiliate Station, Cool FM 88.2, also based in Dargaville. This staion plays 60s, 70s and 80s classics.
Big River FM is proud to be part of an internship programme between the NZ School of Radio Tauranga along with Ski FM in Ohakune.
